KCCI President Mohammad Haroon Agar said Indian companies participated in the three-day expiation had also hold one-to-one meetings with Pakistani counterparts and made remarkable progress to developing discusses contacts, future plan of trade and investment in each other country. He said the exhibition held in Karachi played vital role in bringing the business community of both the countries close and develop business relations.
Haroon Agar said the chamber had made a plan to hold two single country expiations of 'Made in Pakistan products' in Delhi and Mumbai, during first quarter of 2013. The Chamber would soon issue a circular in the regard, he added. He said beside Raymond other India companies also made progress to have joint ventures and establish their offices in Pakistan however they had not finalised yet.
He said during the exhibition KCCI and FIEO had signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) of co-operation, and hoped the signing of MoU between KCCI and FIEO would prove milestone for mutual cooperation and facilitation to business community of both countries. Replying a question, he said the quality of Pak products was much better than India, adding Indian preferred Pak products over Indian products.
The President said during last one decade business communities of both the countries had learned a lot and improved trade relations. He expressed hoped that both the countries would be able to move forward faster next year than this year to normalise bilateral trade. "There should be more trade and cooperation in textile, engineering items, entertainment industry, textile, agriculture, tourism, especially regional trade and tourism," he added Raymond Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers/exporters of suiting, shirting, worsted, denim fabrics as well as garments.
